David Byamungu serves as the Academic Support and Academic Lead on the Mulenge Scholars Committee (Mulenge Scholars Canada). He is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) student enrolled in the University of Alberta Collaborative Program in Nursing at the Keyano College campus, with an expected graduation in 2027.
David brings broad experience in academic tutoring, mentorship, and instructional leadership. He has provided both formal and informal academic support to students across junior high, high school, and university levels, supporting academic skill development, study strategies, and educational planning. He has also mentored Edmonton Mulenge youth, providing ongoing guidance focused on academic progression, post-secondary access, and long-term success. In addition, he has supported immigrant learners in navigating educational systems and adjusting to new academic and social environments. Alongside his academic work, David has extensive experience in professional aquatic education, delivering structured instruction and curriculum-based training within regulated learning environments.
As the Academic Support and Academic Lead, David oversees the development and coordination of academic support systems within Mulenge Scholars. His work focuses on strengthening student outcomes through structured mentorship, tutoring coordination, academic planning, and post-secondary readiness. He is committed to advancing educational access, mentorship, and academic excellence, and to building sustainable systems that support long-term student success within the community.
