Solange Umutesi is a Biochemistry student at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She serves as the Communication and Outreach Lead for the Mulenge Scholars Network Canada (MSNC), where she strengthens community engagement, promotes initiatives, and supports student centered programs.
Having completed her high school education in Canada, she developed a strong understanding of the academic system and pathways to post secondary education. After navigating her own challenges during this transition, she became passionate about mentorship and advocacy.
In her role at MSNC, she leads outreach efforts and develops communication strategies to better connect and support the community. She is especially committed to guiding Banyamulenge youth by sharing resources and helping them prepare for and successfully navigate university life.
Through both her academic journey and leadership work, she strives to empower the next generation with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to succeed.
